My weekend

Yesterday I was out at night talking about the future of 2012, and how to make your daily live more fun. On our way home, the moon was hanging shinning looking so big over Copenhagen. Actually a very spectacular view. Therefor I will add a pictures of the moon phases on my blog today. Without being a big believer into astrology, I find the moons influence on us living creatures inspiring.

2 kreative Kontorpladser i Kødbyen lejes ud fra henholdsvis 1. marts og 1 april 2012.

Det er et super fedt "New Yorker style" kontorfælleskab, der deles af 7 personer. Det ligger i Kødbyen, over Galleri V1.

Du deler rum med grafisk designer Laura Terp Hansen fra Stella Magazine og i de andre rum sidder henholdsvis to webudviklere (www.looper.dk) og illustrator/kunstner Lisa Grue (http://underwerket.blogspot.com/) og Denis som er industriel designer.

Kontorfælleskabet er startet op af Lisa Grue og er nyistandsat med flotte nye bambusgulve, stort "stylish" køkken med mødebord, masser af lys og gode parkeringsmuligheder.

Today is my first real day of work in 2012, and I will start this year with some inspiration from magazines. I am a magazine junkie, so I am always in company of new good magazines.
Rest of the day I will drink after eight tea, do an interview and later a photoshoot. Hello 2012 let us be friends.

Yurt from Mongolia - Christmas

In springtime we ordered a Yurt for our son Mika - made and send from mongolia. It was a fantastic christmas present to give to Mika and we all had a lot of fun putting it up at my parents-in-law house and sleeping in it during christmas.
Now we have to find a place and put it up in our own apartment, and actually it was a "bit" larger (260 cm in diameter) than expected, so we need to re-arrange the rooms.

I am crazy about these tents, and hopefully we can buy a larger yurt in the future and make a travel to Mongolia. I LOVE new adventures.

From Brazil to cold stormy Denmark

It has been a hard changing of scenery for me from warm and vigorous brazil to cold and grey Denmark. I am still struggling with the fact of me being here in this color temperature of grey scale the next three month. It can be dangerous to get the Brazilian, Bahia blood in your veins.

Yesterday there was a big birthday party at our dear friend Helenas house. It was her son turning 11 years, the house was full of children, adults, cake, sweets and colors. It was really fun to explore a different way to celebrate birthdays. Quite a party.

This morning Mika and I spend the morning enjoying all the fantastic sounds from the jungle, and watching all the beautiful trees and flowers, and suddenly we saw a Blond-crested wood pecker. It just looked amazing with such a fancy feather/hair style. December the 3 seems a bit different here in Brazil.

Last weekend we had some friends over eating, and drinking excotic drinks. I did some necklaces with flowers from the garden for all the girls. It is amazing how vigorous Brazil is, how often du you do necklaces from the garden for all you dinning friends. I just LOOOOVE THIS.

Yesterday we had a "Banana expedition" in our garden, it was very inspiring and exotic for scandinavian people as us cutting and getting a bunch of banana to hang in our "casa". In some days the bananas will be yellow and ready to eat.

I have just made som new jungle sketches. Yesterday we were eating breakfast at the house of some sweet people from New York. They have got this fantastic luxury house here in Trancoso, it was really awesome. It is quite an adventure being here, almost every day some new things happens.

While we were in Espilliho we visited a good friend of Helena Rosen the Ceramist of all the ceramic at the beach hotel Fazada. He was so sweet introducing the clay to Mika - the guy had a fantastic studio situated in the middle of the Jungle.

This weekend plus two extra days we have been invited to stay at a fantastic place called Espelho, it is a simple luxery beach hotel driven by Helena Rosen. We have been spending cosy days hanging out with sweet people, enjoying stunning seaview, looking at seaturtle, drinking coconuts and reloading our batteries.

Helena Rosen is refurbishing the whole place, I can strongly recommend going to this paradise and be nused by the breathtaking seaview - I will post more about this place when it is ready for guests.

We love Trancoso

Finally we made it to Trancoso, Brazil. Our house is great, a big thank you to both Saga and Helena. We are greatful to have this opportunity.

We wake up early these days with the sound of excotic birds, and this morning we a looking at humming birds in a big tree outside our window and enjoying life in the hammock on the porch.

Life can be strange, because of an unfortunate occurrence our stay in Brazil has been delayed 2 weeks. Instead of tropical weather, we are experiencing Autumn in DK. When we finally accepted this change in our plans, it is actually really beautiful weather and fantastic autumn colors.

Today I am making preparations before we leave to Brazil. A lot of things need to be done before leaving. What I am dreaming of today, is to have a calm day looking at autumn leaves and eating these raisin buns.

My Lamp

Here you can see my lamp when all the parts were put together. The lamp is quite big, it is around 110 cm in diameter.
Like I wrote I made this lamp for a large charity event for Breast Cancer made of The Danish Cancer Society. I am donating the hand painted artwork on a large e-form lamp, and the lamp will be on an auction on lauritz.com from October the 19th - 29th. October the 29th there will be held a large Galla show on the Danish television channel TV3, and this day you can hear how much money there was been raised.

Today was a photoshoot day. Denis I and I paid Sarah Hvass a photo visit, and enjoyed her colorful home. Thank you Sarah for letting us in to your personal home, we LOVED it. And we loved the cake too. Yummi.

I don't know when I ever learn not to say yes to large project, and when I learn not to squeeze another project in between a large exhibition (London) and a longer stay in Brazil. Red Love - Election in Denmark

Today we have election in Denmark, and love is red. So I put my mark on the red side. Give us back Denmark. To night I will make a red dinner for the family and eat red cakes, and hopefully celebrate a red victory and a better future for Denmark.

It has been a cosy weekend with harvest marked at the fantastic farm Fuglebjerg Gaard, a visit with a very dear friend at the ice cream shop SI/Gelato Siciliano and warm weather and sunshine. More of this please. We are trying to introduce the nature to our son, he is a bit unfamiliar with mother nature, but incredible familiar and safe at a café in the city. I guess that needs adjustments....

The other day, Denis and I paid the fantastic Louisiana a visit. It was really interesting and inspiring, normally I am not in to ARCHITECTURE exhibitions, but this exhibition was a crossover between architectural projects and art installations. It is the Design week in Copenhagen, and I am nominated for a Design Award 2011 from the danish Magazine BoligMagasinet and tonight it is the Award evening, I hope for the best and just enjoy an evening in good company with the danish magazine "Bolig Magasinet" and all the other designers who will show up for this evening.

The sun is up on Copenhagen, a bit chilly, so we are starting drinking coco. My embroidery and quilt is moving forward with good help from my assistant Rikke, in an hour my design/art Avantgarden group is showing up for a meeting about our show in London.

Havest event with mikas Kindergarten

This weekend have been filled with cosy arrangements at Saturday we went with Mikas new Kintergarten on their annual Havest event to the ecological farm "Kragebjerggård". I am really touched by the way the Steiner kindergaten put all their effort in making the kids world full of intimacy, love, joy, magic and a down to earth feeling.
