Recharging our batteries on the Island Ærø

I am a busy lady - that means that my batteries need to be recharged once in a while. The family and I have spend some days at the calm Island Ærø. We - modern families need to go to some relaxing places and feel the rhythm of the earth.

A new year in Studio Underwerket

Yesterday I started up in the studio again. We have started this year by cleaning, throwing out things and changing the look in some of the studio.
I am throwing so many old things out, that there will be so much space to fill out with new and exciting projects. I am sure some good unexpected thing will show up within the next couple of weeks after our cleaning.

Christmas in my home.

December was long and grey here in Scandinavia. So I have been working on giving my home some color, light, adding a lot of flowers and beauty too. This is a little view on how I did that.

Our annual Christmas marked

This weekend we had our annual Christmas Marked. It was so cosy seeing all that people and meeting people face to face that I normally only communicate with through the social media. Thanks to everybody who joined us.

In the café my little man Mika was taking care of the guests and he was a really great and such a gentleman. With a little help from his father.

New Garlands on the way and christmas Weekend.

This weekend has been filled with gift wrapping for Christmas calendars, winter sun and markets with good treats. Mika has been full of joy, he loves december. And so do I actually.

Urban Nomads -

These days me and the family have been living like Urban Nomads. Staying a couple of days in the studio, but not the worst place to stay. It has actually been really cosy. We have friends from Amsterdam living in our home.

Cosy Autumn, home, leaves and StilLeben

Last week has been filled with lots of cosy home life. Fixing the apartment because of a a visit from Amsterdam, drinking tea, buying autumn berries and dropping by stylish StilLeben with new prints.

For some days ago the family and I was on a short trip to Ålborg, Jylland by train. Here we had good magazines to be inspired of (MILK Decoration and Frankie) and Mika had Mini Games by Djeco to amuse us/him with. These cards are good damn amazing, VERY nice illustrations and fun to make for both kids and adults. A good thing for Autumn and vinter days at home.

I have a crush on russian spy novels this season of the year. Do not know why?

The last couple of days including the weekend has been filled with illustration jobs, fixing the studio, garlands, orders, midsummer evening and family time in the forest.

A perfect day off

Today we have a day off in Denmark because it is The Constitution Day. So Denis, Mika and I started the day by eating breakfast at my favorite bakery called "The Bakery BRØD" I will strongly recommend this amazing bakery. Fantastic bread and pasty, organic, cool and stylish. I LOVE it.

A sweet trip to the danish island Ærø

Mika and I took the train and ferry to my mothers island Ærø. It was a cosy trip with my sweet son Mika and it is always great to return to my beloved Ærø. The next days we will be celebrating my mothers birthday, bike, go to the beautiful village and walk on the beach. Congratulation my dear mother.....

New paintings and company of the little artist

Right now I have started a new paining. I paint in the studio, in our house and outside. It is good for me to see the painting in different environments. I often have the little artist Mika around me, and he wants to show his work too. On the second photo he had put his paintings up himself, he also want to see how his work act in different environments. I am such a proud mother.

Inspiration also comes to the small ones

I am not the only in the family who feel the inspiration in the tropics. My sweet Mika also enjoys playing with colors. The scenery is in Helenas home, where we live. All the plants and flowers have such interesting colors and schape, you can not avoid to be inspired.

Hello 2013 looking forward to get to know you better.

Happy New year to all my friends and readers on my blog. I am looking forward to a year with new exciting travels, art and design projects, shows and meetings. And I hope this year will bring me closer to new and old friends.
I had a great new years eve together with many of my old friends. Our sweet love mika fell a sleep at 10.00 pm, so both Denis and I could have time to party, to dance and to have colorful drinks.

Christmas at the danish island Ærø

We spend a cosy christmas at the Island Ærø together with our family. It is a great place to spend christmas. Our house is situated with the sea on both side of the house. So you feel all the elements fire, wind, earth and water - it is a perfect place to get down to earth.  

A very good weekend

A great weekend with two dinner parties with very good friends, some work, some exercise and going to Copenhagens best playground "The Tower Playground" in "Fælledparken" in Copenhagen Ø. It is a great place with a good vibe - and it is made like a miniature model of the towers of Copenhagen. I can really recommend it and as a parent it is a place that is cosy to be for you too. And you can buy a café latte at the mobile coffee bar.

My grandfathers old summerhouse

When I was a child I spend a lot of summers in my Grandfathers fantastic beautiful summerhouse in the north of Zealand in Denmark. Today Denis, Mika and I drove by this town and found the old house. The house is no longer in my family, but this place gave so many magic moments in my childhood. It must have been around 25 years since I been here last time. But the smell, the sound and the feeling was still the same. And another fantastic thing happened when we arrived here - we saw a big owl. Hope I will turn rich very soon, so I can buy this house back to the family. Because this house is divine, especially for me.

A green and cosy weekend

Even if the summer 2012 in DK feels more like spring, the family and I had a great weekend and enjoyed the north of Zealand.

A weekend with the flue

This weekend really made me remember why Skandinavia is not the right place to be in the winter time. You so easily catch a cold or get the flue. Our family need to stay longer time in Brazil next winter. Mika and I got sick this weekend.
